Greg "Olskool Ice-Gre" Lewis Named new A&R for Kanye's GOOD Music Label

Greg "Olskool Ice-Gre" Lewis is far from a new comer on the scene in terms of his hustle. He's worn several hats in this business of music for quite some time. His grind dates back to his early days at Chicago Vocational H.S (CVS) when he formed his first Hip Hop group Peace Posse. Later as a student of Jackson State University this alumni co-founded the legendary Mississippi Hip Hop collective known as "The Stewpot Stowaways" which was the foundation for notable individuals such as Violator Managements very own DJ Scrap Dirty, fashion designer Leo Brown of Leo Collections and SRC/Universal recording artist David Banner to name a few.

Upon graduating, Greg moved to Los Angeles to take a position as assistant to the head of publicity for Steve Rifkens now defunct Loud Records. As the founding member of the well respected Hip Hop group Abstract Mindstate Greg's alias Olskool Ice-Gre got his weight up with countless performances, mixtapes, write ups and reviews. A few bad record deals later Olskool Ice-Gre took a break and let Greg the business man take over. During this time he moved to Brooklyn, NY and became personal assistant/head of business affairs to a then unknown rapper/producer on the rise named Kanye West. After a year and a half of business & hustle with the Louis Vutton Don, opportunity re-opened for Olskool Ice-Gre that pushed him back home to his Abstract Mindstate duties.

It wasn't long before Greg the businessman resurfaced and Olskool Ice-Gre had to take a backseat. He spent the next few years grooming, recording and independently releasing the debut album by the soulful R&B artist Trizonna McCclendon through his entertainment company 4 The Soul-Reciprocity Inc. The record received a substantial amount of press and attention in the indie Soul music scene that garnered a new artist award as well as other nominations, a licensing deal with Japan, a single deal with the UK, video support from BETJ and a House remix from the well respected production team Alan Smithee INBLUEBLACKNESS.

An emcee, businessman, R&B songwriter, producer, manager and all around experienced music guy, the two sides of Greg "Olskool Ice-Gre" Lewis combine to make a valuable asset to any entertainment based organization. Kudo's to Kanye for bringing his man Olskool Ice-Gre back home.

How can something like this happen to a guy like Greg. All he has to offer is talent, experience, good ears, a sense for current trends, and in the end, is a really nice guy. I thought the industry would know better then to put a pro like Greg in a position like this. The world, and music, need more pros and people like Olskool. Well deserved my man!!!!
